World Book Student

Books & Reading Club
(B & R Club)

The purpose of this club is to provide an informal, fun environment where students may be introduced to and explore new books in an
extracurricular setting. We will look at different book genres and allow students to talk about books they recommend to other club members.

We will play games, have book talks, and engage in other fun activities, all in an effort to promote recreational reading.

Durham Library Expectations and Procedures

Durham Library Expectations

Speak quietly

Place both your materials and library items in the 
   designated areas

Access computers in accordance with LISD Acceptable
   Use Policy and Durham Library Policy

Return library materials on time

Keep your library clean and organized


Durham Library Procedures

Checkout

Students may check out two library items at a time for a two week period.

Student library items may continue to be renewed, unless there is a hold request for the items.

Library items must be brought to the library to be renewed.

Staff have unlimited, but within reason checkout privileges.

Library Access

Students have regular access to the library through their Reading teacher. Or with a pass from a non-Reading teacher.

Students may access the library before school with a pass from the library staff. Students may also access the library after school.

Lost or Damaged Items

If a library item is lost, the student is responsible for the cost of that item.

If a library item is damaged, a member of the library staff will determine the extent and cost of the damage. Student is responsible for the cost of the damage.

If a paid library item is found and returned in good and usable condition, a full refund will be given.
PLEASE NOTE: If an item is not returned by the first school day of the next school year, no refund will be issued. (LISD Policy)

Library Computer Access

In accordance with Lewisville ISD policy, a student must have a signed Acceptable Use Agreement on file, in order to use our computers.

Students using our computers shall follow Lewisville ISD Acceptable Use Policy and Durham Library Policy.

Students shall only use our computers for assignments/research, grade check, and Durham MS/LISD subscription sites.

Students failing to follow Lewisville ISD Acceptable Use Policy or Durham Library Policy shall lose computer privileges.
